Finikidia beach – Agios Pavlos -Southern coast of Rethymno is the location of Villa Terra, a few steps away from a pristine beach with an invigorating landscape strongly combined with the elements of nature. In the same area are Villa Aura, Villa Tyche, Villa Sun, Villa Hebe, Villa Iris, and Villa Ourania. The villa’s complex is adults-only and includes a reception, a rejuvenating area (for yoga lessons), and a parking area (for two cars on each villa). So, put your flip-flops on and off you go to Finikidia Beach for a refreshing dive in the crystal-clear water or some sit-back time in the snuggling gazebos.

Inside the villa

Villa Terra was designed with the utmost care to live slowly and enjoy every little precious detail of life – this is the real meaning of slow living! This sustainable cave structure offers closeness to nature through its refreshing, simple forms and minimalist luxury approach; contact with nature is the engine of everything inside and outside. Villa Terra is nested into a cliff, bathed in sunlight daily and painted with amethyst purple in the sunset. The villa is a single-story haven, without inside and outside stairs, and can easily accommodate 2-3 adults.

Description:

The basic concept behind its design stemmed from visually connecting the interior with the exterior and, in general, with the “Mother Earth”. Villa Terra has two inside areas: the daytime and the nighttime area.

The daytime area is a modern open-plan space for the kitchen and the living room. The kitchen boasts all the major appliances necessary to whip up a delicious meal inspired by the pristine scenery. Hand-picked furniture, a snuggling sofa and the blue-shaded view set up the bright living room. The sofa can be transformed into a single bed for an extra guest (upon request).

The nighttime area is designed to provide an ultimate sleeping experience; the natural materials blend in harmony with the modern details, creating a private, relaxing sanctuary. The bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and is equipped with CocoMat®, natural full latex anatomic mattresses, and bedding. Additionally, the wide sliding doors wall-to-wall connect directly with the outdoor space and the daytime area, giving the illusion of living in nature.

Outside Area

Villa Terra offers spectacular sea views, rugged landscapes, and the ultimate privacy. The villa’s exterior consists of an al fresco dining area, an outdoor living room and an elongated swimming pool (27m², 3 x 9 m) extending almost the entire length of the veranda. As the Terra sets, unwind and revel in the tranquillity of your surroundings. Terra is not just a villa; it is an embodiment of luxury, sophistication, and serenity.

Sustainability

Villa Terra has a unique architecture that maintains the quality of the natural landscape by fully following bioclimatic design principles and almost zero energy consumption. Villa Sun is designed in a way that respects natural resources by optimising energy and water use: the swimming pool uses salt water through electrolysis, water supply and irrigation from drilling, the automatic watering system, the bioclimatic building with energy-saving windows, thermal energy is “trapped” indoors, and is retained for the rest of the day due to the “shell” that has been clad on all the external walls, as well the gardens of topical flora.
